Queen Elizabeth II laid to rest at Windsor Castle

Monarch's funeral was attended by an estimated 2000 guests including world leaders and heads of state.

Her coffin was taken to Windsor castle after the state funeral for committal service, followed by the private family ceremony.

Queen was buried alongside her late husband Prince Phillip and her parents.

Before the final hymn, the crown jeweler removed the imperial state crown, the orb, and the scepter from the queen’s coffin, and placed them on the altar.

As a symbol of the end of his service, the lord chamberlain broke his wand of office and placed it onto the coffin, to be buried with the sovereign.
